Mission Without Borders' summer camps give children somewhere that feels different. A place of friendship and care. Where they can feel safe, play, laugh, and simply rest. It's a place where adults have time to listen.
For many children, it can be the best days of their year.
Darius is eleven and lives in Romania. His family live in real poverty. Two cramped rooms, no bathroom, just an outside toilet. Each morning before most children his age are awake, he’s already gathering firewood and carrying water from his aunt’s house.
At home, life is hard. At camp, Darius gets to be a child.
Last year when he came home, he cried because he missed it so much. This summer, he is praying nothing stands in his way to return.
For children like Darius, summer camp is more than a break from daily hardship. It’s a few days of childhood as it should be.
