A Cautious Welcome to 2026 in Moldova

Country Director Tudor Lungu is looking forward to 2026 with a grateful heart, but with caution as uncertainty still looms large in Moldova.

Grateful, But Cautious

In January we welcomed the new year cautiously, knowing that we live in uncertain times. Today, as we look back at 2025, we see many reasons to be grateful to God for the way He blessed us in all our work with families in need. Thousands of adults and children were fed, clothed, given opportunities to learn and to break out of poverty.

One of our greatest blessings this year is seeing 120 families become equipped to support themselves and move toward lasting self-sufficiency.

Some 107 men and women opened their hearts to Christ. 20 students secured employment after finishing their studies; many of them volunteer in the Mission’s work with children. The change is more than material; it’s evident in healthier parent relationships and in the renewed well-being of their children.

Along with blessings we dealt with challenges. Hardships and stress strained relationships. The number of families that divorced in Moldova doubled compared to 2024. Families we work with are often affected, but divorces are much rarer due to the emotional support from Mission’s staff and the local church. Please pray that God protects families from divorce.

During the cold months, we answered needs by donating firewood, warm clothing and shoes; we brought Christmas gifts and 7000 boxes of food; we encouraged, prayed and emotionally supported mothers and fathers. This was all made possible thanks to your generosity and care. Your support brought hope to children and families in need in Moldova.

As we enter the coming year, I invite you to pray for stronger community impact through the Mission’s work. May God move in remarkable ways, improving the circumstances of families and allowing the Mission and our partner churches to be a guiding light toward Jesus.

We greatly appreciate your prayers. Pray for wisdom, unity, and for God’s guidance, that our work blesses those we serve and brings Him glory. Pray that the Gospel will bring hope to every heart. Please pray for provision, clarity in planning, and open doors as we seek to serve communities.

On behalf of all people who have been blessed through your giving I thank you and wish you a blessed year. May your joy be full, and the light of our Saviour fill your hearts and homes. Thank you for being part of this work He has entrusted to us – to bring hope, serve the needy, and share His love.

“The people living in darkness have seen a great light; on those living in the land of the shadow of death a light has dawned.” Matthew 4:16
